Does it happen that your Ninja Coffee Bar clean light keeps coming on? This is a very common problem. Sometimes the clean light won’t go off, even if you have just cleaned the machine!

It can be a huge pain in the neck!

A lot of Ninja Coffee Bar buyers report this problem. I got the idea for writing this guide when someone got in touch with me saying:

“My clean light stays on all the time even when I just cleaned it. And this gives me headaches! I even don’t know whether the Ninja Bar is actually clean or not, and if it’s safe to drink coffee from it. Please help!”

How to turn off the clean light on Ninja Coffee Bar

In this post, we will look at whether this light not switching off is a circuit board issue, a programming error, or needs some basic troubleshooting.

The clean light not turning off is a common problem in some Ninja models and needs a slightly technical fix. We have discussed three troubleshooting methods below, which will help you with your coffee bar light issues.

Ninja Specialty Coffee Maker, Hot & Iced Coffee, 6 Brew Styles, 8 Sizes, Small Cup to Travel Mug, 10-Cup Carafe, Fold-Away Frother, Permanent Filter, Removable Reservoir, Black, CM401

Troubleshooting Method 1: incomplete cleaning

Generally, most of the Ninja Coffee Bar issues are due to cleaning. The issue of your Ninja Coffee Bar clean light not turning off may be related to irregular cycles of cleaning or if you are descaling the machine after an extended period of time.

The science is simple. The “clean light” button on Ninja Coffee Bars lights up when the machine senses calcium and other mineral deposits, and it is an alarm for you to descale the machine.

Now, if you do not clean the machine regularly and only clean it after a lot of sediment accumulation, then even after your descaling process, the machine continues to sense the debris.

The descaling process could not completely clean the Coffee Bar, and it probably needs one (or more) extra descaling cycle.

So if the Ninja Coffee bar’s clean light keeps coming on, try to descale it twice, or even three more times. The moment you descale again, the light should turn off.

Troubleshooting Method 2: pressing the wrong buttons

The second common mistake that keeps the light on after a clean cycle is not pressing the needed buttons or pressing extra buttons. Below is a step by step process that you can follow to avoid the issue.

These are the same steps to follow if your Ninja Coffee Bar says “Flush”.

  1. After the process of descaling the Ninja Coffee Bar, there will be a sign flashing “Flush” on the clock timer screen.
  2. Fill the reservoir again, and this time do not use any descaling solution. Just regular water will do.
  3. Tap the “Clean” button. Do not press and hold! A simple tap will start the flushing process.
  5. The machine will start flushing the water without starting the whole clean cycle.
  6. After the flush, the clean button should go OFF.
  7. If you press the brew cycle buttons while flushing the second time, the light will not go off. And this will happen even if you do the full descaling process twice or many times.

Troubleshooting Method 3: Reset the Ninja Coffee Bar

As with most electrical devices, a simple restart is the solution to most of the problems.

If the light in your Ninja Coffee Bar is not switching off even after both the troubleshooting methods, then follow the steps below to reset your Ninja Coffee Bar.

Sometimes the cleaning process is not the problem. In fact, the problem lies in electrical components, which result in light errors like these.

An unwanted static current accumulation in the switch or adapter or any of the electrical parts will not allow the light to go “OFF.” When you reboot the machine or switch it off completely, all the electrical charge goes away. This eliminates the chances of static current accumulation.

A fresh start of the machine will solve your light issue.

Note: Remove all the wires from the socket when you turn it off to properly restart the machine. Switching off the machine will not help all the static current to drain if it is still connected to the mains.

I want to point out that you should try troubleshooting method number 3 as a last resort.

Issues of the light not turning off are usually due to cleaning errors. Ninja Coffee Bars are highly sophisticated machines, and issues like these (electrical problems) are not commonly reported in these coffee makers.
